Whole30 – Day 9

What it is and how it's working for me...

I’ve been on Whole30 since January 1st and I’m feeling so good! I’ve never done Whole30 before so the first few days were a little rocky, but I’ve been able to stick to the plan and it’s getting easier every day. My sugar cravings are GONE. I have more energy, more motivation, more mental clarity, more patience and just an overall better mood.

So what is Whole30? It’s basically fruits, vegetables, and meats. No rice, bread, grain…no milk, cheese, yogurt or dairy of any kind…and no sugar. At first, I had a hard time coming up with ideas for meals. But as time goes on, I’ve found certain foods that I really enjoy and I try to stick to those.

For example, I usually have a Green Monster Smoothie for breakfast (pineapple, banana, spinach, chia, lemon juice, and avocado). For lunch, I’ve been enjoying grilled chicken breast, fajita veggies, avocado, salsa, etc. For snacks, Lemon Lara Bars, boiled eggs, Sugar Bee apples, berries, carrot sticks, raw almonds, etc. And dinner has been some kind of protein and whatever veggie I have on hand.

I don’t know exactly how much weight I have lost so far, but I can definitely feel it in the way my scrub pants are fitting. It feels so good to be doing something good for my body! My plan is to finish up the Whole30 and gradually add back in some grain, rice, and small amounts of dairy.
